ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
It was during third grade after a teacher encouraged him in his writing and as he read through The Narnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis that Travis decided he wanted to be a writer. The dream never left him, and allowed him to fulfill that dream of writing fulltime in 2007.Travis Thrasher is the author of numerous works of fiction, including his most personal and perhaps his deepest work, Sky Blue, that was published in summer of 2007. This year he has to novels published, Out of the Devil’s Mouth, and a supernatural thriller, Isolation.
Travis is married to Sharon and they are the proud parents of Kylie, born in November, 2006, and Hailey, a Shih-Tzu that looks like an Ewok. They live in suburban Chicago.

My Two Cents:
I like thrillers. I like suspense. I can handle some horror, but not a lot. This book was scary in the sense that I certainly didn't firgure anything out until nealy the time the author revealed evertyhing. That's pretty good writing. And until I figured it out, I certainly didn't expect the turn it took. However, it made sense once everything was revealed.
I understood the wife's spiritual struggle, but I couldn't quite grasp the husband's. The author repeatedly made references to something that had happened to the family while on the mission field, but to me it never became quite clear enough as to why there was that struggle. And I thought that everything did wrap up just a tad bit too neatly in the end. I wasn't left with much to think about or really any desire to revisit any of the scenes.
On the whole, I did like the book and I would recommend it to those who I believed could handle the content, however I would certainly suggest you review it before letting the younger members of your family read it.
